About

I'm Rob Tourtelot: dad, husband, first responder, writer.

I've been married for 20 years, am a dad to two teens, and I volunteer as an EMT with Rhinebeck Fire Department in New York's Hudson Valley. I've also spent decades building products in the startup world.

Several years ago, as I experienced the decline and then loss of both parents back to back, I found myself overwhelmed with everything going on: all the grief, combined with the stress of parenting and running a company. There were days I felt completely overwhelmed and shaky, other days where I felt numb and shut down.

It was then I started studying the nervous system in earnest. I've been lucky enough to work with some amazing teachers and mentors. Over time, I found tools and an approach that work wonders in my own life, in particular during difficult EMS calls—both with patients and myself.

I'm passionate about sharing these tools with others, both fellow first responders and civilians.
